Play PAC-MAN Forever! using Google

 
Last week, Google turned its logo into a mini-version of the game PAC-MAN, as a tribute to the arcade classic’s 30th birthday. But response to the game was so high that Google created a page Google.com/Pacman to keep the game going.

From now on, whenever you need a PAC-MAN fix just point your browser to Google.com/Pacman and you can enjoy the search giant's version of this iconic video game any time you like.

Google posted the homepage doodle in celebration of PAC-MAN's 30th anniversary, and the game was only supposed to remain available for 48 hours. But enthusiastic user feedback to "Pac-Google" inspired the search giant to rethink its plans.

Numerous sites popped up offering free download of Google's PAC-MAN for those who wanted to keep their own copy once Google took the game offline. When Namco and Midway games introduced Pac-Man to North America in 1980 it quickly became a fixture in American popular culture.

PAC-MAN inspired numerous video game spin-offs, board games, lunch boxes, a Saturday morning cartoon and several versions for home video game systems. (Read more inside ..)

Google Launches Buzz - New Innovation of Social Media Sharing

Google had launched Google Buzz, a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting and share updates, photos, videos and more. Buzz is built right into Gmail, so there's nothing to set up — you're automatically following the people you email and chat with the most.




It is focused on making the sharing experience really rich by integrating photos, videos, and links. No more fuzzy little pictures: Buzz makes it easy to quickly flip through photos and experience them the way they were meant to be seen: big and full-resolution. And videos play inline so you can watch them without opening a new window.

You can choose to share publicly with the world or privately to a small group of friends each time you post. And you can connect other sites you use, today there's Picasa, Flickr, Google Reader, and Twitter, so your friends can keep up with what you're doing around the web — all in one place.

To make sure you don't miss out on the best part of sharing, Buzz sends responses to your posts straight to your inbox. Unlike static email messages, buzz messages in your inbox are live conversations where comments appear in real time.

You can follow the specific people whose posts you want to see, but Buzz also recommends posts from people you're not directly following, often ones where your friends are having a lively conversation in the comments. If you're not interested in a particular recommendation, just click the "Not interested" link and your feedback will help improve the recommendations system. Buzz also weeds out uninteresting posts from the people you follow — collapsing inactive posts and short status messages like "brb." These early versions of ranking and recommendations are just a start; we're working on improvements that will help you automatically sort through all the social data being produced to find the most relevant conversations that matter to you.

Green Robot: Know from Gmail contacts who are using Android

Google is the god of innovation. Usually green, orange, red bubble icon indicates whether the contacts in our Gtalk are available, ideal or busy. Google has added a invisible mode in Gmail's chat application.

A new google lab product is out Green Robot!. It will indicate whether your friends in the Gmail's chat application are using Android phones. A robot icon will appear in chat status before the name of the person who is using google chat from Android. From the above image you can visualize that Shirley is currently online from Android.

Google says

These icons can help you decide whether to tailor your conversation to the type of device that your chat buddy is using. For example, when you know the guy on the other end is using his Android phone, you may decide to send shorter, more concise chat messages.

Friends try this Google new experiment Green Robot. Just go to Labs. Scroll down you will see the Green Robot! by Chad Y and enable it.

Multiple login in Gtalk from the same computer

This hack is inspired from my previous post 'Multiple login in Yahoo Messenger from the same computer'. Friends now we will see how to login in multiple Gtalks from multiple IDs or same ID.

Steps to modify Google Gtalk for multiple login:

• Start > All Programs > Google Talk > Google Talk > Right Click on Google Talk Icon > Send To > Desktop (create shortcut) . All this is for creating a Gtalk shortcut in Desktop.
• Now Right Click on Gtalk shortcut icon which is in the desktop.

• Type '-nomutex' without quotes after googletalk.exe" giving a space in the Target text box. You can refer to the image below eg-  googletalk.exe" -nomutex
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Click OK after typing '-nomutex' in the specified place.
  
• You can open multiple Gtalk from the Gtalk desktop shortcut  icon only
• Now enjoy with your multiple Gtalks

New Orkut is live on web and its just fantabulous

Google has officially released its new Orkut. Its a renovation of older orkut with many add-on like one-stop notification, video chat, pick your favorite colors etc. The new look and feel is just awesome and its easier and fast to use from older version of Orkut.This is consider as the biggest upgraded version of orkut since its launch in 2004.

You need an invitation from orkut or any of your friend who has already got an invitation to join the new Orkut.

How to get the invitation for new Orkut:

• Find a friend who has an invitation and ask him! Those who are using the new orkut will have a Orkut logo followed by name of the user.

Sony VAIO will come up with Google Chrome as default browser

Sony is now Google new distribution partner. It has happen for the first time that any Software Company had tied up with any Laptop Development Company for distribution of its products. The internet giant Google has made a step towards distributing its own browser "Google Chrome", after a year of its launch.

According to this new distribution deal with Sony, all new Sony Vaio laptops will now come preloaded with Google Chrome as default browser. One of the benefit of this deal is Google will be the default search engine in all new Sony Vaio laptops. It will again start a new war between Microsoft and Google to become default search service provider in new Sony Vaio laptops. Despite of all this Google Chrome has to cover a long distance to become No. 1 browser. As Internet Explorer has 58.47% market share, Firefox has 31.65% market share, Chrome has 3.23% market share but it has surpassed both, Opera and Safari web browsers market share.

How to trace and visualize your current location in maps

Here is small Web Application for tracing your present location. Actually it trace your internet protocol address, mac address and rfid (radio frequency identification) and map it with the geolocation database. After successful mapping it will find out the current latitude and longitude of the computer or mobile. By the help of Google Maps API it will display your location on Google Maps.

India launches Bhuvan, rival to Google Earth

India has launched a rival to Google Earth, the search engine's hugely popular satellite imagery service.

The online tool, dubbed 'Bhuvan' (Sanskrit for Earth), has been developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro). Its debut comes as India redoubles its efforts to reap profits from its 45-year-old state-sponsored space programme, criticised by some as a drain on a country where 700 million people live on $US2 a day or less.

The new site also follows in the slipstream of the country's first moon probe, Chandrayaan-1, which successfully reached the lunar surface last November.

Bhuvan uses a network of Indian satellites to create a high-resolution, birds-eye view of India that is accessible at no cost online and will compete with Google Earth.
